Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

This agreement stipulates the terms and conditions, upon which a place has been offered to your child. Once you have accepted a place for your child you are agreeing to be legally bound by these terms and conditions. In this document, guardians will also be encompassed under the term ‘parents’.

We ask that you read the terms and conditions carefully before submitting your enrolment application to us.

2. Duration

The agreement will remain in force until the student concludes their education with Kumon Studies or is either voluntarily withdrawn by parents by completing a leaving form or excluded by way of authority granted by these terms and conditions.

3. Authority of the Heads of School

Parents authorise the Heads of School to take such action as the Education or Health and Wellbeing Manager may consider being in the best interests of the student on a day to day basis.

4. Provision of Education

Kumon Studies shall endeavour to do all that is reasonable to provide a suitable educational environment for every student. Although we strive for excellence in the educational advancement of our students, Kumon Studies cannot guarantee that the student will achieve their desired examination results or that results will be sufficient to gain entry to other educational establishments.

For High School Education (Grade 9 to Grade 12 / O Level & A Level), Kumon Studies does not currently handle the administration of examinations. Students are required to register as a private candidate. Finding a suitable examination centre, the meeting of deadlines for registration and costs incurred by taking the examinations are the responsibility of the parents. Additionally, the requirements for participation in other required educational provisions i.e practical science for A-level, are the responsibility of the parents.

5. Age Eligibility

For reasons of child protection and safeguarding, Kumon Studies cannot accept individuals to classes if they are over 18 years of age.

6. Timetables

Student timetables are created by Kumon Studies before the student’s intake date. Timetables are created to maintain small class sizes. If a prospective family has timetable constraints, they can submit a timetable request via the enrolment application form. Kumon Studies will endeavour to accommodate timetable requests, but there is no guarantee that requests will be met. Timetable requests for specific class groups will not be processed.

Timetables are designed to ensure there are no clashes within each year group. Kumon Studies will endeavour to prevent clashes within the timetable; however, if a family chooses to enrol in multiple year groups, Kumon Studies cannot guarantee that clashes will not occur.

The timetable is subject to change.

7. Fees

If paying termly/yearly and starting partway through the term/year, tuition fees for the first term/year of enrolment will be calculated on a prorated basis.

Monthly fees are paid directly into our Bank Account in Turkey in Turkish Lira, US Dollars or Euros every month and spread over 12 months from September to August.

All fees and other expenses payable are set out on the Kumon Studies website.

Kumon Studies will seek to keep fees stable but reserve the right to increase fees at any time with at least 30 days prior notice. Liability to pay fees and any other additional expenses is the responsibility of the parent or carer.

Fees of a student which have not been paid in full or agreed through a payment plan before the start of term may be excluded until the necessary amount is paid. Parents are liable to pay all costs, fees, disbursements and charges including legal fees and costs reasonably incurred by Kumon Studies in relation to the recovery of any unpaid fees irrespective of value of the claim.

No refunds will be given in any case.

Incompletion of Agreed Payment(s)

If a payment has not been paid on the agreed date and without 7 days’ prior notice, access to all classes and resources will be suspended immediately until the payment is made. If no efforts are made to contact Kumon Studies and make the payment, it will be passed to our debt collection agency.

You risk losing your place if enrolment and any tuition fees are not paid on the agreed payment date.
